Guiding Principles

Prevent cruelty to animals

Prevention of cruelty to animals is done by educating people on the complex needs, responsibilities and significant expense of having horses and other large domesticated animals. Prevention of cruelty is also achieved by taking in horses and other large domesticated animals when their owners are no longer capable of or interested in providing their animals with the humane care needed to ensure a safe and healthy life.

Provide lifelong care and improve the well-being of animals

Equorum et Plus provides horses and other large domesticated animals who are old, sick, injured or abandoned with shelter, food, medical care, exercise, comfort and love. Our ultimate goal is to improve and maintain the well-being of each animal in our care.

Support educational programs for economically disadvantaged children

Equorum et Plus provides economically disadvantaged children access to horses and other large domesticated animals to not only to learn about, but to experience such animals as well. The Foundation also allows students interested in veterinary studies to help with the care of the horses in order to gain hands-on experience, and assists students who are prevented by financial hardship from getting a veterinary education.

Support educational programs for individuals with disabilities

Individuals with disabilities are given the opportunity to safely interact with horses and other large domesticated animals, which is considered by many to be beneficial to their well-being.

Design equestrian equipment for individuals with physical disabilities

In order to assist individuals with physical disabilities to benefit from comfortable and safe interaction with horses, Equorum et Plus works with designers to design and develop equestrian equipment that overcomes physical barriers. Such equipment provides access where there was once only a closed door.
